Looking to find out about Sunday School?

Sunday School is offered during the school year (September-June) for children aged 4 and up and begins at 10:30 am during the worship service. Families come to worship and the children participate in the Children's Message and then depart with their teachers to The Parlors. The Sunday School program is designed by our Session's Christian Education Ministry for a range of ages and attention spans, all children are free to participate in the church service and/or attend Sunday School or enjoy the Nursery/Childcare Room (infant- age 3). Sunday Church School resumes each fall the Sunday following  Labor Day with registration and an opportunity for the children and parents to meet our Christian Education Ministry members, teachers, assistants, and staff. Christian Education Director Emily Otto focuses the curriculum on connecting each week’s Bible story and values to live by to our children’s lives today.  This connection will be made each week in ways our children and parents will be able to reinforce at home.

Nursery Room

The Nursery Room is designed for children from infants through 3 years old. Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church has supervised nursery care available during Sunday morning worship services. Emily and her assistants provide a safe and welcoming environment for our young children.

Children's Sunday School Choir

The Sunday School Choir is part of the kids' Sunday morning time together.  Organist & Choir Director Thomas White joins with the children and their teachers for a time of singing.  The children sing once a month and on special occasions/holidays.

Frequently Asked Questions ...

What happens during Sunday School?

Following the Children's Message, children age 4 and above go with their teachers to The Parlors next door to the main church where they'll enjoy a weekly Bible story, fun worksheets, craft items, and a time of singing together.

Who are the Sunday School teachers?

Our teachers and assistants are members of the congregation led by Christian Education Director Emily Otto.  Many generations of families outside of our congregation have also had the pleasure of spending time in our children's education events and chances are you may know them yourself since many are also teachers in local schools!

Tell Me More about the Nursery/Childcare Room?

During worship, arts & crafts materials and, periodically, worksheets are available in the Nursery for parents or care-providers. While the Nursery/Childcare Room is not currently staffed Sunday mornings, parents are invited to stay with their infants & toddlers-perhaps taking turns on succeeding Sundays.  The worship service is "piped" through a speaker.  The room is located through the right front door of the sanctuary.
